A survey circulating the internet suggests that Activision may be thinking of starting an online service for the Call of Duty franchise.
This service would seemingly provide premium extras and timed exclusive content to the online multiplayer parts of the game with early access to expansions and betas, character skins and game modes and online 'support for competitive play'.
The service would not be free though, with players paying a fee, either monthly or by some other method, which may point to the 'natural evolution' of a Call of Duty MMO Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick alluded to last year.
We'll keep you posted on this one if it develops.
